This <br />ed iti o n of th e Town Report er incl ud es general election in formati on and <br />personal st ate ments provided by each of t he ca nd idates to a id voters in making <br />informed ba ll ot choices. <br />Th ere a re eig ht cand id ates running for four seats on the Town Council. In <br />addi tion to the inform ation in the Town Reporter, voters will be given an opportunity <br />to meet the candidates and d iscuss issues at a Candidates ' Forum hosted by th e <br />T own on Wednesday, January 28, 2004. <br />It wi ll be a busy e lect ion year. T he Arizona Pres id enti al Preference Election will <br />be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004. Vote rs wish ing to vote in the Presidential <br />Primary must req uest an early ballot from Maricopa County (http:// <br />www.recorder .maricopa.gov/) o r go to their polling place on February 3 . Voters <br />should then expect to receive their Town Coun ci l vote-by-mai l ball o t s automatica lly <br />on or about February 6. <br />Voters may vote for up to four ca ndidates by marking the arrow n ex t to th e <br />selected ca ndidates ' names with a black pen . Ballots must be returned by mail to <br />the Maricopa Count y Election s Department by first class mail using the envelope <br />provided. Voters may a lso drop off thei r ballots at Town Hall between February 9 <br />and March 10, or at any Maricopa County polling location. Voted ballots must be <br />received by March 9, 2004. Each voted ballot must be mailed separat ely and not <br />combined by hou se hold into one envelope.
