I <br />Volume 27, No, 1. January 1996 <br />PRIMARY ELECTION <br />The Town of Paradise Valley <br />Primary Election will be held on <br />Tuesday, February 6, 1996. <br />CANDIDATES <br />There are nine candidates <br />running at large for seven council <br />seats. They are: (listed in <br />alphabetical order) Jane Cole, <br />Marvin Davis, John "Jack" M. <br />Hook, Sara Moya, Phyllis Sears, <br />Francis. A. Shanley, Gerry <br />Thomas, James Vieh, and Sylvia <br />Yoder. <br />To be elected at the Primary <br />Election, a candidate must receive <br />a majority of the votes cast (more <br />than halt). If required, a General <br />Election will be held on March 26, <br />1996, to fill those council seats <br />that were not filled at the Primary <br />February 6, 1996 <br />Election. If all seven council seats <br />are filled at the Primary, it will not <br />be necessary to hold a General <br />Election. <br />VOTING <br />To be eligible to vote in the <br />Primary Election, you must be a <br />resident of the Town and <br />registered to vote as of January 8, <br />1996. <br />There will be two polling places <br />for the Primary Election, and <br />General Election, if needed. <br />Residents living north of Lincoln <br />Drive and east of Tatum <br />. Boulevard are in voting District 1 <br />and will vote at Cherokee <br />Elementary School, 8801 North <br />56th Street. Residents living south <br />of Lincoln or west of Tatum are in <br />voting District 2 and will vote at <br />Kiva Elementary School, 6911 <br />East MacDonald Drive. <br />The polls will open at 6:00 a.m. <br />and will close at 7:00 p.m. <br />Following the closing of the polls, <br />the ballots will be brought to <br />Town Hall for tabulation. <br />Unofficial results should be <br />available by 8:30 p.m. on February <br />6.
